Vero nome Paolo Venturi, nato a Vignola (Modena) ITA.
Chitarrista classico da giovanissimo, scova poi nel Blues la sua vera vocazione. Dopo uno studio rigoroso e scientifico delle più antiche sonorità Delta, prende ad esibirsi come leader di trio o quartetti ottenendo un discreto successo nei locali e clubs della provincia. Sarà però solo grazie all'incontro con Andreino Cocco, uno dei migliori armonicisti Blues d'italia, se Venturi riuscirà a riscontrare maggior successo ed ottenere ingaggi in festivals di rilievo.
Nel 2004, sotto lo pseudonimo "Cherry Red", incide il suo primo singolo "Serenase Blues" per la "Crotalo Edizioni Musicali", brano che verrà giudicato dai critici estremamente poetico ed intenso.
Carica improvvisativa e genuina spontaneità accompagnano le performances del duo "Cocco & Little Paul", spesso rafforzato da batteristi di gran feeling come Oscar Abelli e Max Cappa.
Tuttavia Venturi compie il passo più importante nel 2007, quando intraprende un viaggio che tocca Memphis(TN), Clarksdale(MS) e Holy Spring(MS), dove trova l'ispirazione per scrivere molti dei brani contenuti nel suo primoCD. "Shake And Fear Bues" rappresenta un documento importante, colmo di raffinatezza ed intensità espressiva.
Il frequente utilizzo del falsetto, il sensuale vibrare della slide sulle sei corde e le liriche crude e spontanee rendono Little Paul uno dei più originali e bizzarri esponenti del Blues in Italia.
Venturi ha collaborato con importanti artisti come Terry Harmonica Bean(USA); Robin O'Herin(USA); Angelo Leadbelly Rossi(ITA); Michael Masser(ENG) e accompagnato nella tournè invernale 2006 l'armonicista di New Orleans James Monque'D. Paolo Venturi alias Little Paul was born in Vignola, near Modena, Italy.
Started as classical guitarist he end up founding his real vocation for the blues. He reached a very deep knowledge in the ancient Delta Blues sound applying it in the most strict way. Afterwards he started to perform with fair success in his hometown clubs as leader of small acoustic combos. In association with Andreino Cocco, one of the best italian harp player, Venturi found the chance to reach some wide popularity performing in important blues festivals.
In the year 2004, under the alias of Cherry Red, he recorded his first track "Serenase Blues", for the label "Crotalo Edizioni Musicali", a real deep and poetic piece according to reviewers.
Improvisation and spontaneity are the trademarks of the "Cocco and Little Paul" duo, sometime joined by the talented drummers Oscar Abelli and Max Cappa.
In the 2007 Venturi made an important trip to the USA, visiting and living in Memphis (TN), Clarksdale and Holy Spring (MS), where he wrote down the lyrics and music of his first Cd songs "Shake and Fear Blues". It's an important document, full of elegance able to show the real Venturi's Blues soul. Due to a frequent falsetto singing, a sensual use of the slide and crude lyirics, Venturi is known as one of the most original and particular italian bluesman.
Venturi performed with important artists as Terry Harmonica Bean, Robin O'Herin, Angelo "Leadbelly" Rossi, Micael Messer and supported the New Orleans harp player James Morgue D. during his 2006 Italian Tour.
